Extension of the kindergarten in Sua Nhe Lu, Xin Cai commune, Ha Giang province in the north of Vietnam

Status September 2016

On September 13, 2016 the LOAN Foundation team (LOAN Stiftung) (Isabelle Müller, Gabi Siegloch and Corinna Buchholz) visited (at one’s own expense and not at the expense of the foundation) the village Sua Nhe Lu, Xin Cai commune, Ha Giang province in the north of Vietnam.

The nature reserve of Sua Nhe Lu is located at an altitude of 1300 meters and covers 549 hectares along the main road. 40 families (247 inhabitants) live here and 23 of these families are very poor. All villagers belong to the Hmong minority.

There are 54 school-age children:

  • 21 attend kindergarten (12 girls, 9 boys)
  • 12 attend preschool
  • 21 attend elementary school (11 girls, 10 boys).

The current kindergarten is 6 kilometers away from the center of Xin Cai. Even though there are enough teachers, education is not ideal due to insufficient space for classes to take place. Lessons are given in shifts and classes are not organized according to age groups.

As a turnover foundation, the LOAN Foundation (LOAN Stiftung) can provide help directly. We would like to carry out this project, but are dependent on every financial donation. We remain optimistic that we will be able to collect the necessary funds.
