Project No. 47 – YAGI
Our work for the LOAN Foundation (LOAN Stiftung) took me back to Vietnam at the beginning of September, 2024. From September 5th, 2024, just as school was starting, I experienced Super Typhoon YAGI during two days in Hanoi. It raged first on the coast, then in the capital and along the northern border to China.
Due to the dangerous situation (landslides, flash floods, flooding, etc…), my team and I only made it to Tuyen Quang province on September 9th, 2024. We turned back before Ha Giang province.
YAGI left only devastation in the northern regions: many people lost their belongings, hundreds – including children – lost their lives. Numerous schools and kindergartens were destroyed.
The LOAN Foundation (LOAN Stiftung) will contribute to the reconstruction of school facilities. As we maintain our focus on education and children, we are now collecting precise data from school facilities that need our help. We will soon determine which children and schools from which location will receive our support. As always, we will make a transparent list, check offers and determine and monitor the logistical implementation.
From now on we begin collecting donations for this purpose. Of course, we will report on the results at the end with precise information, pictures and videos.
Please support us in this new task! Every cent is welcome and will be used one-to-one for the children.

Status September 24th, 2024: We are in contact with different provinces and will (as of today) support the province of Lao Cai. We are still waiting for further information (name and address of school facilities, number of children, goods required). We will then get according offers and carry out the distribution.
