Ben Giang Kindergarten (Ben Giang commune, Nam Giang district, former Quang Nam province, now Da Nang city) has a total of 213 students, of which 206 are ethnic minority children, accounting for 96.7%.
It has 3 administrators, 26 teachers and 9 staff members. The kindergarten is located in an area with particularly difficult socio-economic conditions, where the majority of the population are from the Co Tu ethnic minority.

To Poo  is a subschool of Ben Giang Kindergarten. Currently, the subchool has two unused classrooms that are in poor condition (i.a. cracked and falling cement, leaking roof, damaged flooring), which no longer ensure safety for children and teachers during use.

The subschool also lacks a standard kitchen. The existing kitchen is temporary and does not meet the requirements of a one-way kitchen in accordance with food safety and hygiene regulations. Therefore, food preparation and storage do not follow a closed process (raw – cooked – serving), which may pose health risks to children. In addition, organizing semi-boarding meals faces many limitations, affecting the quality of child care and nutrition.

Meanwhile, the kindergarten does not have sufficient funding to repair and renovate the deteriorated classrooms or to build a standard kitchen. As the To Poo subschool is located in a rural and disadvantaged area, it is also difficult to mobilize social funding.

To ensure safe food preparation processes, meet the requirements of semi-boarding child care, and improve the quality of care and education, the school called on LOAN Foundation (LOAN Stiftung) to provide financial support. The funding will be used to renovate the 02 deteriorated classrooms into a one-way kitchen and to purchase necessary equipment and supplies for semi-boarding services.

By renovating the deteriorated classrooms and upgrading kitchen facilities, the school will meet food safety standards and improve the quality of childcare and nutrition.
